Earthen Coffee Roasters awarded at the

2021 Aurora International Taste Challenge

The third annual Aurora International Taste Challenge took place at the end of September near Stellenbosch, South Africa, to celebrate and pay tribute to universal food quality. Earthen Coffee Roasters was awarded a Gold Award for Houseblend Coffee.

Celia Gilloway, the convener of the judges invited some of the best food industry professionals to sit on the panel of adjudicators. With over 2500 glasses and small tasting containers on hand, the work could begin. It is no small task to find the best, as each product was assessed on many qualities, including appearance, smell, taste, mouthfeel, and aftertaste.     

The judges for this year were as follows:

Frederick Hartsuiker ,the founder, explains: For us processing and making coffee is not a job, it is a way of living of doing what we really love. It is a privelege to share with you the alchamey of witnessing the turning of these little seeds called coffee beans into, real sweet smelling treasure chests filled with aromatic flavorfull oils. The mysterious coffee bean as the divine ingredient of coffee. As an Aurora Challenge gold winner we thank you for adding value to our business in terms of credibility and opening new doors of opportunity .

Some products are perceived as generic, and quality should not vary much. Nothing can be further from the truth. The value of professionally evaluated products opens a whole new world to consumers. Awarded products help the consumer to make better-informed decisions. An award is a tool for producers, wholesalers, distributors alike.
