What is Swiss Water Process?

  • The Swiss Water Decaffeination process is a chemical-free method of removing caffeine from coffee beans. It uses water, temperature, and time to gently extract caffeine while preserving the beans' flavor and aromatic compounds. The process begins by soaking the beans in hot water, which dissolves the caffeine. The water is then passed through a charcoal filter that captures the caffeine molecules. The beans are dried and ready for roasting, with most of the caffeine removed, while the flavor profile remains largely intact. This process is considered environmentally friendly and preserves the natural taste of the coffee.
